The abstracts submission is opened since October 1st, 2006

The Presentation is Just On Line

You can submit your abstract for two kinds of presentation, however you must let us know which one do you prefer. The Scientific Committee will finally decide the abstract for podium or poster presentation.

The abstract reception can be done online: Abstract Submission.

However, the Scientific Committee will accept multiple studies, providing they take different angles or have different titles. If you present multiple studies, the Scientific Committee has the prerogative of choosing a selection, therefore please let us know your priority by ticking the corresponding box or boxes on the form.

The abstract application consists of a two-part online entry form, including the entry of the abstract into a text box. You must send a form for each one of your studies. It may be easiest to copy the information from a Word document and paste it into the text box. Please do not exceed the limit of 2000 characters including spaces (approximately 300 words), and ensure that the title does not exceed 110 characters. The institution or author's name should not appear. If you exceed the limit you will receive an error message and will have to re-enter the abstract. If you want you can include a table or an image. All abstracts must be sent in English. Please note that you cannot use a Mac Power PC to complete this application.

Please note the deadline for abstracts submission is April 30th, 2007.

The abstract must include four parts: (1) Objective and Purpose of the research, (2) Methods and Materials, (3) Results, and (4) Discussion and Conclusion

The presentation program will group presentations by categories, pathologies or regions, according to the Scientific Program. Please ensure you place your work in the correct category. There do not exits “Free Topics”, all the presentations will have the characteristic of CONFERENCE. There will be presentations of 6 minutes, and, depending of the group, there will be round tables with 4 or 6 speakers and discussion of 10 to 15 minutes, the moderator will be chose by the Scientific Committee. It is up to the Scientific Committee the election of abstracts for 8, 12 or 15 minutes conferences. Also, the Scientific Committee may nominate a Speaker to comment a group of similar studies.

Each podium presentation will last 6 minutes and all abstracts will be presented in an auditorium. Should we have more abstracts than anticipated, the Scientific Committee may open an additional auditorium. The language for all presentations will be English.

The Scientific Committee will review all abstracts without knowing the authors, nor the place of origin or institution. Abstracts will be reviewed on function of their contents, according to the importance of the study, clarity of information, exact description of procedures, originality or modification of techniques, and details of sui-generis (rare) cases. In the INTRODUCTION (OBJECTIVE), should be clearly stated the problem and the purpose of the study; METHODS, should provide a description of how and what was actually done; RESULTS, should contain the findings of the study, this could be expose using tables; DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION, should be based upon the findings and relate to the stated purpose of the study and existing knowledge.

All abstracts accepted must be send completed after receiving the confirmation of acceptance. The complete study will be uploaded to our web site, so it could be read on line by other doctors around the world. This studies will also appear in a special issue of the International Society of External Fixation.
